Octothorpe is a podcast about science fiction and science fiction fandom which has been released fortnightly since The Great Podcast Commencement of March 2020. The podcast is hosted by John Coxon, Alison Scott, and Liz Batty: three British fans who wanted to talk about fandom, including science fiction conventions. They try to demystify what’s happening behind the scenes and bring people into the community, and at least three (3) people have been to a convention because of them! They won the Hugo Award for Best Fancast in 2024.
